Hideous Red Barn

This was an exercise in trying to fix up a watercolour sketch that was going wrong.

Incorrect colour choices, messing up the lines in the most basic way, etc. It was definitely an off day, or off couple of days whilst doing this one.

One benefit of the watercolour I find is that I’ve ‘saved’ a few pictures from the bin whereas if done with the ink then it’s just Game Over. Would be better to get it right from the start but that’s what this whole practice practice practice ethic is about, improving the odds for success.


  1. This is so fresh – a very nice save indeed. I’m drawn to the building on the right, too, with those angles and shadows and the weathering on the panels – thumbs up!
