Niki Lauda๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†

F1 World Champion in 1975, 1977 and 1984. The only driver ever to have been champion for Ferrari and McLaren.

I would usually de-emphasise teeth on a portrait but there’s no denying them with Niki, or ‘The Rat’ as he was affectionately referred to – you don’t often see him smiling so that was a definite for this painting.

This is another 6×4″ little painting in my F1 heroes collection and number 69 in the 100 portraits in 100 days. The 100 days is up now but I’ll finish off the few I’ve got half done.

  1. This is great! Are you going to do Inktober this year? I was thinking of trying it myself for the first time. My writing is at a point where I can wrap up one thing and wait to start he next after October. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

    • Despite previously saying I was going to do it I think I’m going to give it a miss.

Perhaps this 100 day challenge pushed me over the edge but I’ve got so many other ideas waiting to get put on paper that I don’t really need any additional challenges right now.

I imagine I’ll get caught up in the buzz of it and do a few sketches though ๐Ÿ˜

      • Itโ€™s a lot of drawing… ๐Ÿ˜ณ Well thereโ€™s no penalty for not finishing so I might give it a try! Looking forward to seeing your new ideas!
