Happy New Year 🎉

Happy New Year to readers of my arty posts.
Here’s a few sketches from the past few days.

I’ve started off my new year this morning by throwing out some paintings which just weren’t working.
I estimate about twenty-thirty hours work just binned.
Whilst you may consider it as a waste of time I don’t – I’ve learnt something from each failure and whilst admittedly I’d like to have learnt these lessons faster that’s just not how it works. I’m absolutely certain I’ve wasted far more time than that on watching dross on the telly so perhaps the best lesson would be to do that a lot less 😉
All the best for 2019 😀😁😀

    1. Thanks Michael, I never did get around to doing a big version of that “Alice down the well” painting, maybe this year.
Look forward to yours as well, photography, carpentry, artistry – loads going on!!

  1. Happy New Year, Steve! 🙂 I hope to waste less time this year too… that said, Millionaire with Jezza starts again tonight. Start as we mean to go on 😛

  2. I usually do a bit of a bonfire in spring (too cold here in Canada during winter) with art things that were more about the journey than the destination. I agree the lessons learned are very important but it’s also nice to have a bit of paper to help the kindling light. =) Happy New Year!
