Did you know that the word Husky comes from the word English sailers used to refer to the indigenous Arctic people, Eskimos – Huskies is a shortened form of Huskimos. The dogs were originally bred and kept by Inuit people and played an important part in daily life. They were trained for sledding and work, not for a gentle walk round a city park on a hot day – but they’re very adaptable.
