Steller’s Sea Eagle is the heaviest in the world with a wingspan of up to 2.5 metres (8ft 2in) and the largest raptor. Don’t tell the Harpy eagle as he usually tries to claim that crown but the evidence is in favour of this guy.
The species is classified as vulnerable by the IUCN, whilst they are legally protected many threats to their survival include habitat alteration, industrial pollution, and overfishing for human consumption which in turn decreases their prey source.
